Counselor Aides are always 14 years old. Some may have been members of the CIS program the previous summer and are therefore relatively knowledgeable concerning policy and procedure. Some of the CAs are new hires and are basically new to our overall program. The CA is a "volunteer" helper who assists with camper supervision in our cabins or specialty areas. The CAs and CITs are learning the art of becoming counselors.
If you are interested in applying, you must be a full fourteen years old on or before the first day of camp. If you are still thirteen years old on the first day of camp, you are only eligible to apply as a CIS (regardless of what grade you are entering). Interested fourteen-year-olds must make a complete commitment to be in attendance the full seven-weeks of summer.
Applicants will be selected based on a personal interview with one of our Camp Administrators and by the references that they will supply us with on their written application. We do not give any "preference" to our own past campers, nor do we give preference to Pine Crest students over those who do not attend PC.
